40 Years of Toscano

In celebration of our 40th anniversary, we present the Heritage Collection—a homage to our beginnings.

Where it Began

“I wanted to create products that could serve the people.”

That idea became the foundation of Tocco Toscano, founded by James Lor 40 years ago.

Tocco Toscano, meaning “Touch of Tuscany”, originated in Florence, Italy. We began in a small Florentine workshop under Valecchi Stefano, who later entrusted the brand to his Singaporean apprentice, James. Inspired by the precision and artistry of Italian craftsmanship, James brought Toscano to Singapore in 1986.

In the mid-1990s, after initially granting James with licensing rights, Stefano sold the trademark—TOSCANO was then rebranded as TOCCO TOSCANO.

Inspired By Duran

Inspired by Duran, the iconic series of Toscano's early years, the Heritage Collection unites timeless style with purposeful design, honouring our founding philosophy: to create products that serve the people and last for generations.

The Duran Collection was a star—‘one of our best,’ as our founder, James, puts it. To this day, it remains cherished by many and passed down through generations, rich with stories and memories.

The Heritage Collection

The Heritage Collection revisits our iconic 1980s hardware, complete with the original logo. It features four colourways: Classico, inspired by Duran’s original “Berry” finish, along with Tan, Forest, and Black.

We bring together seven bag designs and three wallets and accessories, each thoughtfully crafted with both functionality and style. These pieces retain the same timeless elegance and poise as the Duran pieces.

Time made it better. That was the plan!

40 years on, our mission remains the same—and we’ve only gotten better at it: to create products that support your everyday, so you can live easier and carry fashionably.
